HOSPITAL TABLETOP DISASTER EXERCISES via WEBINAR

Tabletop disaster exercises continue to be a popular method to test hospital disaster plans and prepare hospital staff for operations based disaster exercises such as drills, functional, or full-scale exercises. Using webinar technology enables more personnel to participate while easily accommodating the conversational style of tabletop exercises.

This tabletop exercise is intended to help your group with a potential evacuation emergency. Please have your group in a room together with one person designated as a scribe for the session. We will require you to type group answers to the questions posed during the exercise. Due to the high level of interaction within the webinar, workshop is limited to 10 group sites. One person from each group needs to register.

NOTE: The Center will continue to offer customized disaster exercise design services to hospitals, public health, and long term care facilities on request.

SESSION OBJECTIVES

  1. By the end of the Tabletop, participants will determine the necessary number of hours and equipment needed to evacuate the facility.

  2. By the end of the Tabletop, participants will recognize the strengths and weaknesses in their current evacuation plan.

  3. By the end of the Tabletop, participants will recognize their needs for assistance in the event of an evacuation.
