Improvised
Explosive Devices:
Response and Medical Management
- LaVista, NE
There will be a general session on IEDs, including a case study,
types of explosives, scene issues, classification of blast
injuries and burns. Then we’ll have 3 breakout sessions by
profession; ED staff, EMS, and Public Safety (includes, law
enforcement, fire, hospitals safety). Each breakout will
discuss/provide in-depth information pertinent to each
profession. Then we’ll gather as a group again for a panel
discussion and QA time before the post test and evaluation.

Designing Disaster Exercises for
Hospitals: Simplifying the process - Scottsbluff, NE
This 4-day, hand-on training prepares participants to be their
facilities' in-house disaster exercise design expert. The
training provides a knowledge base leading to a more efficient
design process and actionable outcomes. Based on FEMA/DHS
training, participants learn about the 8 Steps of Exercise
Design, HSEEP format and exercise evaluation, and HICS Incident
Planning and Response Guides. By the end of the training,
participants will have written and/or conducted a tabletop
exercise, a drill, and a full-scale exercise. The training is
FREE to Nebraska residents and lodging is included.

given preference with a limit of 2 people per hospital. |
